Manchester United put Arsenal’s dream signing on their shortlist

If Arsenal and Manchester United both submit offers, it would be difficult for any player to turn them down.

Transfer Update - Manchester United

Manchester United registered their fourth consecutive Premier League victory since Michael Carrick took charge, with a win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

If United can maintain this momentum, the club could consider offering Carrick a permanent role in the summer. The Red Devils are already planning ahead for the next transfer window.

Their priority will be to sign a new midfielder. In fact, they are expected to target at least two midfielders, as Casemiro has already announced his intention to leave the club.

The future of Manuel Ugarte also remains uncertain. However, given the way captain Bruno Fernandes has been performing, United are keen to retain him, as he has been their standout player this season.

As a result, the club could explore multiple midfield options this summer.

United have already scouted several players, including Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Alex Scott.

There have also been discussions about re-signing Scott McTominay from Napoli, although that option appears unlikely at this stage.

According to The Telegraph, Manchester United have now added Sandro Tonali to their list of midfield targets for the summer.

Premier League leaders Arsenal attempted to sign him towards the end of the January transfer window. But Newcastle United blocked the move.

Despite that, the Italian midfielder could still be on the move in the summer. Transfer News Live has already reported that Tonali could be a dream signing for Mikel Arteta next season.

There have also been reports suggesting that Tonali would prefer a return to Italy. However, if Arsenal and Manchester United both submit offers, it would be difficult for any player to turn them down.

At this stage, it remains unclear which club Tonali would favour, although based on the current situation, Arsenal may have reason for optimism.
