The 2026-27 Premier League season is almost underway as clubs put the finishing touches on their preparations.
Arsenal begin the campaign as defending champions, while Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City return to the top flight after securing promotion.
This season also marks the start of a new era across the division. Several clubs have appointed new permanent managers, including Manchester City following Pep Guardiola’s departure.
Teams such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United will also hope to improve after contrasting campaigns last season.
With anticipation continuing to build, attention has now turned to one prediction for how the campaign could unfold.
A supercomputer has predicted Arsenal will retain the Premier League title after simulating the 2026-27 season 10,000 times.
The model predicts Arsenal will finish first with 88 points, three ahead of Manchester City on 85 points.
Liverpool are forecast to claim third with 74 points, while Chelsea complete the top four on 70 points.
Aston Villa are tipped to finish fifth on 67 points, narrowly ahead of Manchester United in sixth with 63 points.
Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Crystal Palace complete the top half of the table.
Further down, Bournemouth could finish 11th despite qualifying for the Europa League last season.
Brentford, Fulham and Everton could also end the campaign in the bottom half. The supercomputer also forecasts another difficult season for the promoted clubs.
The supercomputer predicts Ipswich Town will finish 18th with 32 points, while Championship winners Coventry City will place 19th on 27 points. It also predicts Hull City will finish bottom with 19 points.
Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland are all predicted to avoid relegation.
Meanwhile, the supercomputer predicts Arsenal will successfully defend their Premier League crown after another close title race with Manchester City.
