Antony moved to Real Betis on a permanent move from Manchester United. The Brazilian’s future was in doubt when he returned to Manchester after his successful loan spell in Seville.

The 25-year-old joined Real Betis on loan in January after Ruben Amorim told him that he had no plans for Antony.

After joining Betis, Antony regained the form for which Manchester United bought him from Ajax by paying around €100 million.

The Brazilian played a pivotal role in helping Real Betis qualify for the Conference League final for the first time in their history.

Although they lost the final against Chelsea, Antony had made a mark in the minds of Real Betis fans. Once his loan spell ended, Antony came back to United.

But the Brazilian was determined to return to Seville. The 25-year-old received offers from multiple European clubs.

Also, many Saudi Pro League clubs were interested in signing the player. Manchester United were hoping that Antony would choose such a club.

The reason is United wanted to recover the money they spent to sign Antony as much as they can from Saudi clubs who were ready to pay big-money for the Brazilian.

However, the winger was not ready to leave Europe. Also, he rejected moves to many European giants because his heart was set on Real Betis.

So, after multiple rounds of negotiations, Manchester United finally struck a deal with Real Betis for Antony on deadline day. The Red Devils will receive a mere €25 million for Antony.

According to Fichajes, Antony even rejected an offer from Bayern Munich on the final day as he only wanted to sign for the club from Seville.

Now, this will be a significant loss for United because of the money they spent to sign the player in the first place. But Manchester United have included a 50% sell-on clause.

So, the Red Devils are hoping to recover their money in the near future.
