Antony revived his career at Real Betis last season. That is why Manchester United were hoping for big offers for the Brazilian winger.
The Red Devils paid €100 million to bring Antony to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022. After three years at the club, Manchester United know how bad their investment was.
They will not be able to recover that amount. However, Al-Nassr were ready to pay an important fee for Antony after watching him perform at Real Betis.
But the 25-year-old declined a move to the Saudi Pro League. The main reason for the rejection is that he wants to go back and play for Real Betis again this season.
Last season for Real Betis, he played 26 games in all competitions. Antony scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists to the team from Seville.
He also helped Betis reach their first-ever European final. However, they lost to Chelsea in the final of the Conference League.
The spell with Real Betis helped Antony regain his confidence. That is why the Brazilian is adamant that he wants to rejoin Antony.
Manchester United have no problem with that. In fact, they are looking to offload him as Ruben Amorim has no place for him in his squad.
The Red Devils are looking for an important offer. Manchester United are looking for a fee of around €45 million for Antony, which is less than half of the price they paid to sign him.
However, according to Fichajes, Real Betis are looking for a loan deal as they are struggling to pay that amount for Antony.
The Brazilian is even ready to lower his wages to facilitate the move. But Manchester United are not ready to let him go on loan.
The Red Devils are looking for a permanent move. And, if the permanent move is not possible, then they want an obligation to buy at the price they want.
This is the main reason why the Antony to Real Betis deal is still not done.
