Arsenal and Manchester United set to battle it out for £60m Premier League star

Arsenal and Manchester United set to battle for £60m Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.

Some players reach a point where staying still starts to feel like going backwards.

Alex Scott has earned his status.

Player of the Month.

England provisional squad.

And now two of the biggest clubs in English football are fighting for his signature.

Arsenal and Manchester United set to battle for £60m Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott

According to the Daily Mail, both Arsenal and Manchester United are tracking Scott, with Bournemouth having set a clear asking price of at least £60 million for the 22-year-old.

Arsenal have already made official contact.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed conversations are ongoing with both Scott’s agents and Bournemouth, describing the midfielder as “one of the options on the list.”

Manchester United, meanwhile, believe a deal can be struck at that £60 million figure.

Both clubs are pushing.

Neither is prepared to step aside.

Scott’s profile has always been compelling.

Composure on the ball, and his dynamic box-to-box presence.

The kind of midfielder who wins the ball, uses it quickly and arrives into spaces that others don’t see.

He became Bournemouth’s most important player this season, and the Europa League qualification they secured under Andoni Iraola was built significantly around his energy and quality in central areas.

Pep Guardiola reportedly described him as “unbelievable.”

That endorsement doesn’t arrive cheaply.

The obstacle is familiar.

Bournemouth don’t want to sell.

With his existing contract running until 2028, the south coast club hold every card on paper.

And are simultaneously pushing Scott to sign a new improved deal that would include a release clause of around £75 million.

That offer remains unsigned.

Scott is exploring his options.

He has previously stated he would only leave for a Champions League club, a condition that Arsenal clearly meet.

Manchester United also return to the Champions League next season, removing the barrier that had previously complicated their pursuit.

The summer battle for one of the Premier League’s most exciting midfielders is now officially underway.
