Arsenal make surprise move for Everton star

Arsenal will have competition, which could complicate the matter.

Arsenal transfer update

Arsenal had a relatively quiet January transfer window. Yet, they managed to pull off a signing on the deadline day.

Just like last summer, the Gunners are planning big next summer. Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta are already chalking out the plans for the summer of 2026.

Now, they have already identified a top midfielder as their first signing of 2026. However, Arsenal will not be in the market only for a midfielder.

The Gunners would like to add a forward as well. If they move on Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard, then Arteta will be looking at replacements.

Also, Arteta would ideally want players with Premier League experience. It lessens the time they need to settle into the English football circuit.

That is why the Spaniard have identified a forward he would like to sign next summer. According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are now in the race to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.

The Senegalese international joined the Toffees in 2024 from Olympique de Marseille for €18.5 million. Since then, Ndiaye has become a very crucial part of Everton’s attack.

His performances have drawn attention from not only Arsenal but also from clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea.

Now, Ndiaye’s contract with Everton will expire in 2029. Thus, the Toffees are in a strong position to ask for a substantial fee for the 25-year-old.

Reportedly, they will be asking for anywhere between €65 million and €75 million. The price would increase if multiple top English clubs submit offers.

So, Arsenal will have competition, which could complicate the matter, as they might have to pay more than what they would ideally want to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.

With a few more months to go before the summer window opens, Andra Berta will surely have perfect alternatives in place in case Everton start asking for crazy money and this deal falls through.
