Arsenal set to sign Learndro Trossard replacement

Arsenal appear to have moved quickly to secure his replacement before the new season begins.

Arsenal are preparing for an important summer as they look to build on last season’s success.

Mikel Arteta guided the club to the Premier League title with 85 points and also reached the Champions League final.

The Gunners have already started strengthening their squad ahead of the new campaign. Illan Meslier has arrived on a free transfer, while Piero Hincapie’s move has been made permanent.

However, attention has now turned towards the attacking department. Leandro Trossard played a key role during Arsenal’s title-winning season.

The Belgian finished as the club’s joint-leading assist provider in the league with six. He also supplied the assist for Kai Havertz’s goal in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite those contributions, the forward is entering the final year of his contract. As a result, Arsenal have accepted a £17.1 million offer from Besiktas for the Belgian international.

His final decision on personal terms is expected after Belgium’s World Cup campaign concludes.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are now close to finalising a deal worth around £35 million for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis.

The report states that only the club’s final approval is needed before the player travels to London to complete the move.

The transfer would make the Greece international the most expensive Greek footballer in history. However, Arsenal’s pursuit of the winger is not expected to impact their interest in Morgan Rogers.

Tzolis enjoyed an impressive campaign for Club Brugge last season. The winger registered 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.

With Leandro Trossard expected to leave, Arsenal appear to have moved quickly to secure his replacement before the new season begins.
