Arsenal show interest in former Real Madrid striker

Interested clubs could therefore need to pay a significant premium if they pursue the striker in a future transfer window.

Arsenal strengthened several areas during the summer as Mikel Arteta prepared his side to defend their Premier League title.

The Gunners signed Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United for £75 million to reinforce their midfield alongside Declan Rice.

They also added Ezri Konsa following William Saliba’s long-term back injury. Piero Hincapie completed a permanent move from Bayer Leverkusen.

Further forward, Christos Tzolis arrived from Club Brugge and quickly made an impact with four assists in eight appearances.

However, Arsenal failed to secure another major attacking target before the transfer window closed.

Their search for additional firepower could now continue, with the club monitoring another young forward already playing in London.

According to 442, Arsenal are keeping tabs on former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia following his summer move to Fulham.

The 22-year-old joined Fulham from the Spanish giants for €40 million during the previous transfer window.

Garcia has already attracted attention despite only recently arriving in the Premier League. Aston Villa are also monitoring his progress.

Arsenal want greater attacking depth, while Viktor Gyokeres has struggled to secure regular opportunities during the current campaign.

Garcia could provide another long-term option for Arteta. He offers goalscoring ability, movement and tactical flexibility in attack.

However, Fulham have little reason to lose their recent signing cheaply after investing heavily to bring him to England.

Interested clubs could therefore need to pay a significant premium if they pursue the striker in a future transfer window.

Aston Villa could also provide competition should they decide to formalise their interest at the end of the season.

Real Madrid represent another important factor in Garcia’s future despite selling him during the summer.

The Spanish club included a buyback clause in the agreement that took Garcia to Fulham.

That clause could give Real Madrid an advantage if the striker becomes available for another transfer.

For now, Arsenal are monitoring Garcia rather than pursuing an immediate deal. They are also planning to reignite interest in Eli Junior Kroupi.
