Fulham have stepped up their summer rebuild under new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa. The former Real Madrid defender arrived at Craven Cottage after Marco Silva’s departure.
And he has quickly started reshaping his squad ahead of the new season. The club have already completed one permanent addition.
Jonah Kusi-Asare joined Fulham on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell from Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Harry Wilson, Raul Jimenez and Issa Diop have all left the club during the current transfer window.
However, Arbeloa has continued searching for attacking reinforcements. The Fulham boss has looked towards his former club for new additions.
Real Madrid‘s academy has become a major focus as he looks to strengthen his options. Now, Fulham have moved closer to completing two significant deals.
According to MARCA, Fulham have reached agreements with Real Madrid to sign Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios.
The Premier League club will pay €40M and Real Madrid will have a 30% sell-on clause for Gonzalo Garcia.
Fulham have also agreed a deal worth between €8M and €10M for Cesar Palacios with Madrid having a 30% sell-on clause. Only minor details remain before that transfer is completed.
The combined agreements will generate around €50M for Real Madrid. Arbeloa played a key role in both moves.
The Fulham manager had already identified Gonzalo Garcia as one of his priority targets after previously working with the striker in Madrid’s academy.
That relationship helped convince the forward to continue his development in the Premier League. Palacios also decided to leave Castilla despite receiving interest from other clubs.
The academy midfielder scored 16 goals and registered five assists last season before choosing Fulham as the next step in his career.
Real Madrid will retain future control over both players through the agreed structure of the deals, while Fulham continue building a squad around Arbeloa’s vision ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
