Arsenal have already made major changes to their squad after ending their long wait for the Premier League title last season.
Mikel Arteta has strengthened several areas as the Gunners prepare to defend their crown.
Bruno Guimaraes became their biggest summer addition after completing a £75 million move from Newcastle United.
His arrival has increased competition in an already crowded midfield. Arsenal could now consider further departures before the transfer window closes.
One young player could become available despite playing a significant role during last season’s successful campaign.
According to football.london, Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has been offered to Chelsea and Manchester United following Guimaraes’ arrival.
The 19-year-old came through Arsenal’s Hale End academy and signed a new contract only last year.
He made 36 appearances across all competitions during the 2025–26 campaign, although only 19 came as starts.
Lewis-Skelly impressed while operating as a left-sided midfielder towards the end of last season.
His performances also earned him a starting place in Arsenal’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Arsenal’s growing midfield depth could now affect his opportunities. Guimaraes joins Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino among Arteta’s senior options.
Lewis-Skelly has started every preseason game in defensive midfield while several senior players have been unavailable. His displays during those fixtures have produced mixed results.
Chelsea have monitored the England international for some time. Lewis-Skelly also spent part of his development at Cobham before establishing himself within Arsenal’s academy system.
The Blues have already completed extensive summer recruitment, so they currently appear more focused on departures.
However, they could still consider another signing if the right opportunity emerges.
Arsenal are not actively forcing Lewis-Skelly out, but the club could struggle to reject a strong proposal.
Manchester United have also received the opportunity to pursue him, leaving Lewis-Skelly’s situation worth watching before the transfer deadline.
