Both Manchester United and Newcastle United are looking to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old is looking for a move away from the Bundesliga.

Initially, he was a concrete target for both Arsenal and Liverpool. However, both clubs decided not to sign the Slovenian.

Instead, Arsenal went on to sign Viktor Gyokeres, and Liverpool signed Hugo Ekitike. However, the interest in the RB Leipzig striker has not gone down.

Both Newcastle and Manchester United are talking to the player’s camp. However, it is the Slovenian who will decide where he wants to play next.

Newcastle United had a forgettable transfer window just like Manchester United. The Magpies targeted many strikers. But they have failed to sign any of them.

On the other hand, to make matters worse, their prized possession, Alexander Isak, is set to leave the club. The Swedish international wants to join Liverpool.

That is why Newcastle are desperate to bring in one of the most promising strikers in Europe right now.

Sesko played 45 games last season for Leipzig, where he scored 21 times and assisted 6 times. These numbers have also caught the eyes of the Red Devils.

Manchester United are also looking to sign Sesko. After signing Mbeumo, they are eager to sign a striker who can guarantee goals.

Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled in front of goal last season. In the Premier League, these combined scored 7 goals.

However, Sesko in the Bundesliga last season outscored them. And, now, the Slovenian has picked the club he wants to play for next season.

According to CaughtOffside, Benjamin Sesko prefers a move to Manchester United to Newcastle United.

If Newcastle fail to keep Alexander Isak and can’t bring Sesko in, then it will be a telling blow for the Magpies.

For Manchester United, Sesko’s willingness to join should give them a boost in their pursuit of the striker.
