Barcelona are having a very tough transfer window. Apart from Joan Garcia, the Blaugrana failed to make significant signings.
Hansi Flick is demanding a forward. However, the financial condition of Barcelona is preventing them from making moves in the market.
They were looking at Nico Williams, and the Athletic Bilbao star was ready to join Barcelona.
However, Nico Williams wanted a guarantee that he would be registered as a Barcelona player before the start of the season.
Due to their financial limitations, they were unable to guarantee such a clause. That is why Nico Williams extended his contract with Bilbao till 2035.
Now, Barcelona are eyeing Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz. However, the latter has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich.
In the case of Rashford, Manchester United are asking for a big fee, which Barcelona are struggling to afford. That is why they are looking at other options.
Apparently, they set their sights on a former La Masia graduate in Xavi Simons. The Dutch international currently plays for RB Leipzig.
However, Barcelona might be facing another transfer blow and this time at the hands of Premier League giants.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation with Xavi Simons. Both London clubs are yet to make a move.
The same is for Barcelona, however, they have held talks with his agent.
Xavi Simons would be open to joining Barcelona. However, RB Leipzig will be asking for a generous fee for the Dutchman.
The German club will be looking for a fee close to €70 million, and Barcelona might struggle to pay that amount.
But, for Arsenal or Chelsea, they are among the most active clubs in the transfer market this season.
So, Hansi Flick might get ready to face more disappointments as his target is now eyed by Premier League giants.

He’s prepared to leave Leipzig as revealed since May and Premier League top clubs are informed. No bids or talks yet.
Nothing concrete with Barça so far.
