Juventus sporting director has now publicly acknowledged Arsenal’s interest in Kenan Yildiz. The Gunners continue searching for attacking reinforcements despite their success last season.
They ended a 22-year wait for the Premier League title and also reached the Champions League final.
However, Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his squad further ahead of another demanding campaign. A new left-sided attacker remains one of Arsenal’s priorities this summer.
Arsenal are heavily linked with Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. The Turkish international enjoyed an excellent season in Italy and established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers.
However, Juventus have now delivered a firm response to Arsenal’s interest.
Sporting director Damien Comolli publicly confirmed that Arsenal admire Yildiz but insisted the Serie A club have no intention of selling him. Comolli said:
“Kenan is untouchable. He is at the centre of our project.
“We know that Arsenal manager Arteta wants him. The English club have significant financial power.
“However, we would not sell our player even if they offered €100 million.”
Those comments underline Juventus’ determination to build around the 21-year-old. Yildiz signed a new contract until 2030 earlier this year.
That agreement strengthened Juventus’ position and reduced any pressure to consider offers. The attacker scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 47 appearances last season.
Yildiz is currently with the Turkey squad in the United States and could further enhance his reputation during the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue evaluating options to strengthen their attack. Reports suggest the Gunners made enquiries about Yildiz earlier in the year as well.
For now, Yildiz remains a key figure in Juventus’ project, while Arsenal continue their search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season.
