Following Man City’s 2-0 win at Fulham on Sunday, the curtain came down on Kevin de Bruyne’s career at the Cityzens.
The Belgian will undoubtedly go down as a City and Premier League legend.
His contract is due to end, and talk on his next club remains tight-lipped by the midfielder and his representatives.
De Bruyne has hinted that nothing is off the table, and his next move needs to benefit everybody concerned, following his final home game for City.
However, one club looks to have stole a march on the chase for the midfield maestro, and looks to be trying to wrap up a deal as soon as possible.
According to Calciomercato, Kevin De Bruyne is expected to undergo a medical at Napoli on June 2nd, completing his move to the Serie A champions from Manchester City as a free agent.
Napoli will be looking to bolster their squad for the new season as theyvlook to retain the Scudetto for the first time.
This is despite rumours circling of Antonio Conte’s imminent departure.
De Bruyne could follow the likes of Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour to Naples, who have flourished with the Italian giants.
Recent injury struggles have meant the Belgian didn’t have the dream farewell season he would have hoped.
De Bruyne scored 4 league goals in his final season in Manchester, only once managing fewer in a league campaign for City.
However there is little doubting the quality the magical midfielder can still possess at his scintillating best.
Could he follow the likes of Andrea Pirlo , and continue his career as the chief architect in a deeper midfield role?
For Kevin De Bruyne, his Premier League career looks to be over, but the Serie A will undoubtedly be gaining an international superstar, with plenty still to give.
