Manchester United hold advantage over Liverpool for in pursuit of €100m forward

Manchester United may need to invest in their forward line.

Michael Carrick, Arne Slot

Manchester United signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko last summer. It was a complete overhaul for their forward line.

Also, they let the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Rasmus Hojlund leave the club. Now, next summer, their main target will be signing midfielders.

However, it doesn’t mean United will not be looking to sign forwards. First of all, they need a deputy to Sesko who can push him.

Joshua Zirkzee could leave next summer, as he is not getting the game time he wants under Michael Carrick. Also, with a new permanent manager, United may need to invest in their forward line.

They need to sign wingers as well. That is why they are already scouting the market. Liverpool also have the same requirement.

There is a possibility that Mohamed Salah could leave for the Saudi Pro League next summer. Al-Ittihad already opened talks with Salah, as they want to make him the face of their project.

In fact, the Saudi league want Salah to be their next face after Cristiano Ronaldo leaves. That is why Liverpool are eyeing a replacement for their talisman.

Both clubs have set their sights on Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig. Now, according to journalist Dylan McBennett, Manchester United could have an advantage in their pursuit of Yan Diomande.

The Red Devils have a good relationship with Diomande’s agency, Roc Nation. RB Leipzig are demanding a fee of around €100 million.

Also, Liverpool reportedly have reached an agreement on personal terms with Yan Diomande.

So, it will be interesting to see whether United’s relationship with his agency helps them to get this deal over the line.
