Manchester United will begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign today.

They will be eager to improve on their 15th place finish last season.

Without any European Football to worry about this season, there is optimism from the United fanbase that they return next season.

Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego León have all arrived for a combined fee of €229.7 million, with no money earned from player sales.

This includes Marcus Rashford on loan to Barcelona, as well as Victor Lindelöf and Christian Eriksen being released and Jonny Evans, who announced his retirement from the sport.

Manager Ruben Amorim is putting his stamp on the club, and more players could be set to leave.

With the squad preparing to face Arsenal today, there is one notable omission that implies that the future of one player may be outside of Old Trafford.

According to reports, Man United striker Rasmus Højlund is not a part of their Premier League match day squad.

Højlund has struggled since his £72 million move to United two summers ago, with 26 goals in 95 appearances.

With Sesko now having arrived at the club and not playing for the manager that signed him, the writing appears to be on the wall for Højlund at United.

The club are open to both a loan move or permanent transfer, with AC Milan strongly linked in previous weeks.

At the age of 22, he still has the opportunity to rebuild his career elsewhere.
