The main objective of Manchester United next summer will be to sign a new midfielder. Now, the Red Devils have multiple names on their list of targets.
Now, it seems they have to scratch off one of those names. United do have a long list of midfield targets. Last year, they tried to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, they failed in their pursuit. So, next summer, they will have the Cameroonian on their list of targets. Apart from Baleba, there are other names on the list as well.
This year, Manchester United have placed Elliot Anderson on top of their potential targets. However, the player picked Manchester City as his next destination.
Now, Transfer News Live previously reported that Manchester City are eyeing a move for the alternative of Elliot Anderson.
So, in that case, United could have a massive boost in their pursuit of a midfielder. However, it looks like City’s target is set to renew his contract at his current club.
It is worth mentioning that Manchester United were also targeting the same player, as the Red Devils may need two holding midfielders next summer.
According to Patrick Berger from Sky Sports Germany, Felix Nmecha is now close to signing a new deal with Borussia Dortmund.
His new deal could run until 2030. If that happens, then both Manchester clubs will not be able to sign their midfield target.
So, for United, they will now have to shift their focus to other targets as they are also monitoring Adam Wharton, Amadou Onana, and Chema Andres.
