After a forgettable season last year, Manchester United are looking for a fresh start. Ruben Amorim will be starting his first full season as a Manchester United manager.
The first Premier League game for the Red Devils is against Arsenal at Old Trafford. It is perhaps one of the toughest games for United to start the season off.
So, before the start, Ruben Amorim wants to make sure he has ticked all the boxes in the preseason and has recruited quality players to produce better results throughout the season.
However, things are not going well for the Red Devils in the transfer market. Now, it looks like their main striker target, Benjamin Sesko, will go to Newcastle United.
But the Portuguese boss wants to add a midfielder as well to his squad. They were linked with many midfielders this season. Yet, the Red Devils have not sent a bid for any of them.
The only two signings they have made so far this season are Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. Both of them made their debuts during the preseason.
Manchester United are unbeaten in the preseason so far, and they will be looking to keep that momentum going before they square off against Arsenal in the Premier League opener.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have set their sights on a midfielder playing in Turkey for one of their biggest clubs, Galatasaray.
According to a Turkish outlet, Takvim, Manchester United are ready to bid for Gabriel Sara. The 26-year-old Brazilian has emerged as a target for the Red Devils.
As per their reports, a bid of around €40 million would be enough to seal the deal. Manchester United can surely pay that amount.
Now, it will be interesting to see whether United place an official bid or they focus on other targets as signing a striker looks like a priority for them right now.
