Manchester United are already planning ahead for the summer transfer window. They have now reignited their interest in a Premier League defender.
Now, the Red Devils are ready to offer a one-year deal to Harry Maguire. And it is expected that the former Manchester United captain will accept it and extend his stay at the club.
However, United are looking at the future. That is why they want to sign a replacement for Harry Maguire while the England international is at the club.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils will have a busy summer transfer window. They will be looking to replace Casemiro first, as the Brazilian already announced that he will leave at the end of the season.
So, signing a midfielder has been the priority for the Red Devils and will remain the priority even with the links to Harry Maguire’s replacement.
Also, they will be looking to add an attacker and sort out the future of Marcus Rashford. Moreover, they will be looking to sign a left-back with a Swedish player already on their radar.
However, according to Ben Jacobs (via The United Stand), Manchester United have held talks with the camp of Jarrad Branthwaite in February.
The Red Devils will be hoping to complete a summer move for the Everton defender. However, the English defender has a contract with the Toffees until 2030.
So, negotiating with Everton for the 23-year-old will not be easy for Manchester United, as they faced challenges last time also when they wanted to sign him.
