Manchester United have already started shaping their transfer plans for the summer window as they prepare for a return to European football.
The club expect a busy period, with several changes likely across the squad. A major clear-out could take place at Old Trafford.
Up to 13 players may leave the club, including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Hojlund, Manuel Ugarte, and Joshua Zirkzee.
That level of turnover would allow United to focus on key additions in specific areas. One position they want to strengthen is attacking midfield.
The club have identified a Premier League player as their top target, and internal discussions have already placed him at the top of the shortlist.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United have made Morgan Rogers as their first-choice option in that role.
However, any move will not be straightforward. Aston Villa could demand a fee of at least £86 million, which could affect United’s overall transfer strategy.
There is also strong competition for his signature. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain have all shown interest in the England international.
Because of that, United have already started exploring alternatives. The club have considered a move for AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.
Leao has scored 10 goals and provided three assists for Milan this season. Meanwhile, Morgan Rogers has registered 12 goals and nine assists in 49 appearances for Aston Villa this season.
🚨 Manchester United are targeting a left-sided player who can create numerical superiority and rotate with Matheus Cunha when they return to European football next season.
