Manchester United suffered a huge setback in their pursuit of Carlos Baleba from Brighton and Hove Albion. The Premier League club will not be selling their key midfielder this summer.
However, after signing Benjamin Sesko, Manchester United are now eyeing a move for a holding midfielder.
Well, they also have the likes of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte in their ranks. However, Casemiro has struggled with the pace of the Premier League in recent years.
For Ugarte, he is yet to establish himself as a regular starter for Manchester United. That is why Ruben Amorim is looking for a holding midfielder who can adjust to the pace of the Premier League.
Carlos Baleba could have been a perfect choice for United as he has proven his capability in the Premier League.
Also, in recent days, Manchester United have been linked with a move for Lucien Agoume from Sevilla.
However, the Frenchman is not Premier League-proven, and for Amirom, a Premier League-proven midfielder is a must.
That is why Manchester United are looking to reignite their interest in Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, according to Fichajes.
However, Manchester United are not the only club interested in the Crystal Palace man. Spanish giants Real Madrid have also registered their interest in Adam Wharton.
The Eagles value Wharton at around £100 million. So, a deal will not be easy as Palace have not been an easy club to negotiate for many Premier League clubs.
So, it will be interesting to see whether Ruben Amorim can get his desired midfielder before the transfer window shuts or not.
🚨 Manchester United are weighing up whether to make a bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.
