Arsenal and Manchester United will be very active in the summer transfer window after a quiet January window.
Both these two Premier League giants have set their sights on several Newcastle United stars. Look, Manchester United are primarily targeting midfielders next summer.
So, they have already identified Sandro Tonali as a target. However, Mikel Arteta also admires the Italian and wanted the Gunners to sign him in January.
However, the Magpies thwarted any approach from the Gunners. As a result, they failed to replace Mikel Merino, who is out due to a long-term injury.
Now, it is highly likely that the Gunners will come back for Tonali next summer. Another Newcastle star who can draw attention from several top Premier League clubs will be Bruno Guimaraes.
However, it is unlikely the Brazilian will move next summer. If he does decide to switch clubs, then Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal will be ready to sign him.
Now, apart from Tonali and Guimaraes, there will be another player who will draw attention from several top Premier League clubs, especially Arsenal and Manchester United.
But Newcastle have already done something that will safeguard them from losing one of their key players.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United have tied down Anthony Gordon until 20230 while extending his deal in 2024.
There were reports that the Magpies had signed him from Everton in 2023 with a contract until 2028. However, Keith Downie has revealed that Gordon’s actual contract expiry is in 2030.
Arsenal were expecting to sign Anthony Gordon as a replacement for Gabriel Martinelli. They wanted to make a £75 million move for the England international.
However, with his contract ending in 2030, both Arsenal and Manchester United will have to pay more than what they imagined to sign Gordon.
Thus, Newcastle United will feel relaxed as they have one of their best players safeguarded ahead of a challenging summer transfer window.
