Real Madrid may already be planning their next big move. The La Liga giants were spotted at the Emirates on Sunday.

Arsenal drew 1-1 with Manchester City in a tense Premier League clash. But Real Madrid were not just there for the football.

According to TBR Football, club officials were in attendance to watch a particular player they want to sign next summer.

The Los Blancos are serious about signing a new defender next summer. That is why they sent their scounts at the Emirates to monitor the player they want from Arsenal.

Transfer News Live has already reported about Madrid’s strong interest in signing William Saliba from Arsenal.

Saliba played the full 90 minutes against City. Gabriel Martinelli scored a stoppage-time equaliser to secure a point.

The French defender has been ever-present when available. He has started all four Premier League games so far this season.

Arsenal are working to extend his contract. His current deal runs for two more years. New contract talks between the club and the player are moving forward.

But Real Madrid’s interest hasn’t gone away. The Gunners want to keep Saliba. Mikel Arteta knows that Saliba is vital to his defence.

Even with other options like Gabriel Magalhaes, Piero Hincapie, Cristhian Mosquera, and Riccardo Calafiori, Saliba is seen as the priority.

Real Madrid are searching for a new centre-back. Dean Huijsen is already in place. Now they want a long-term partner for him.

David Alaba is expected to leave at the end of the season. Antonio Rudiger’s future is also unclear. Saudi clubs are monitoring Rudiger’s situation.

However, Saliba is not the only name on their list. Real Madrid are also looking at Marc Guehi and Ibrahima Konate.

So, Madrid want the best defender available. And on Sunday, they got a closer look at one of their top targets.
