Ruben Amorim is under fire once again. However, Manchester United are not only dealing with poor results but also with new transfer demands from their manager.

The Red Devils suffered a 3-1 defeat to Brentford. Also, the loss exposed recurring weaknesses in defence and in goal.

Therefore, Amorim is planning for the January window. He wants reinforcements in several positions, but his biggest focus is on the goalkeeper role.

Manchester United had aimed for a top signing between the sticks in the summer. They even targeted Emiliano Martinez. But that move never materialised.

So, Amorim entered the season with Altay Bayindir and Senne Lammens. However, doubts have already grown inside Old Trafford.

According to former United chief scout Mick Brown, Amorim has made the shocking call to demand a new goalkeeper in January. Brown told Football Insider:

“Amorim’s still going on about the goalkeeper. He’s not been happy with Bayindir, and he doesn’t trust Lammens to play yet. That in itself is ridiculous. Why sign a player who he doesn’t think is good enough?”

Also, Brown suggested it reflects poorly on Amorim and the recruitment team.

“If they can’t bring in someone to improve the XI, it’s more about their failings than the players.”

Meanwhile, questions continue to surround Bayindir. Amorim was left raging at him after displays against Arsenal and Fulham.

The Brentford defeat only increased frustration. Fans and pundits are now questioning if the goalkeeper is reliable enough.

Amorim insists Bayindir remains his first choice for now. He also admits Lammens must improve before becoming a regular.

But his words have only created more confusion. His handling of the goalkeeper situation is raising more questions than answers.

The bigger issue remains his own job security. United chiefs are already considering replacements as pressure grows.

Therefore, January could be decisive. Amorim wants a new number one, but whether he is still in charge to sign him is another matter.
