Declan Rice played a huge role as Arsenal booked their place in the Champions League final with a victory over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium.
The midfielder produced another outstanding performance in one of the biggest games of the season.
Bukayo Saka scored the winning goal as Mikel Arteta’s side secured a famous result and moved one step closer to European glory.
Transfers News Live already revealed that Arsenal’s Champions League final kick-off time has changed, and also, their fans will have to pay a hefty amount to watch that game.
Arsenal will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in the final later this month. At the same time, they also remain heavily involved in the Premier League title race.
Rice has been one of the key reasons behind Arsenal’s success this season.
Since arriving from West Ham in a £100 million deal, the England international has established himself as one of the most important players in Arteta’s squad.
However, after the win over Atletico, attention quickly shifted towards some interesting comments from the midfielder regarding his early career.
Before becoming one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, Rice actually started out in Chelsea’s academy.
The Blues released him at the age of 14 before West Ham gave him an opportunity.
Speaking to Prime Video (via Fabrizio Romano) after Arsenal secured their place in the Champions League final, Rice admitted:
“That club gave me everything, without West Ham there’s no me.
“I honestly believe that. They gave me a chance when Chelsea didn’t.
“A lot of people there really pushed me on so it’s not nice to see the position they’re in.”
Rice and Arsenal will now return their focus to the Premier League title race. They face West Ham this weekend in a match that could have a major impact at both ends of the table.
