Arsenal handed major boost in pursuit of Leandro Trossard replacement

Club-to-club talks could accelerate in the coming days.

Arsenal are approaching the new season from a position of strength after a remarkable campaign under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners ended a 22-year wait for the Premier League title and also reached the Champions League final.

Andrea Berta has already started reshaping the squad ahead of another demanding season on multiple fronts.

Piero Hincapie joined the club on a permanent deal from Bayer Leverkusen, while Illan Meslier arrived on a free transfer.

Arsenal have also overseen several departures to create room for further additions this summer.

Leandro Trossard completed a move to Besiktas, leaving the club searching for another option on the left flank.

The North London side are also pursuing moves for Bruno Guimaraes and Julian Alvarez as their rebuild continues.

Attention has now turned towards Belgium, where one of Europe’s most productive attackers enjoyed an outstanding campaign last season.

According to Ben Jacobs, Arsenal have received a major boost after Christos Tzolis informed the club that he wants to join Mikel Arteta’s side this summer.

The winger scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.

Those performances helped Club Brugge win the Belgian Pro League title and earned him the Belgian Footballer of the Year award.

The report adds that club-to-club talks could accelerate in the coming days. Club Brugge are also willing to sell the Greece international during the current transfer window.

However, Arsenal will likely need to pay between £30 million and £35 million to complete the deal.

The 24-year-old previously spent time with Norwich City and also enjoyed spells with FC Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf.
