Liverpool remain fully focused on signing Bradley Barcola this summer.,The Paris Saint-Germain winger has emerged as the club’s top target after Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Andoni Iraola wants another explosive wide player and has placed Barcola at the top of Liverpool’s shortlist. The Reds have already taken the first steps.
Preliminary talks have already taken place between the parties. Liverpool are now preparing to submit their opening offer for the France international. But completing the deal will not be easy.
Paris Saint-Germain have set an asking price of around €170M (£145M). Liverpool have no intention of matching that valuation despite making Barcola their priority target.
Instead, the Reds value the winger closer to £80M. Liverpool explored a move for Barcola last year when his price stood at around €85M.
However, the market has changed significantly after another impressive campaign in Paris. The club remain determined to test PSG’s stance.
Barcola scored 11 Ligue 1 goals and added two more in the Champions League last season.
He also impressed at the FIFA World Cup with France, scoring three goals and providing one assist in eight appearances.
Even so, Liverpool are preparing for every scenario. The Reds have already identified alternative targets if Barcola proves too expensive.
According to talkSPORT, Bournemouth winger Rayan has emerged as one of Liverpool’s dream alternatives.
The Brazilian teenager is admired for his pace and versatility, qualities that fit Iraola’s preferred attacking style. However, signing him this summer could prove just as difficult.
Rayan’s release clause, worth more than €100M, does not become active until 2027. That means Bournemouth remain in a strong negotiating position if Liverpool decide to make an approach.
Said El Mala and Matias Fernandez-Pardo also feature on Liverpool’s shortlist, while discussions over Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh are not currently active.
For now, though, Barcola remains Liverpool’s clear priority as they continue working on a deal.
