Erling Haaland’s Manchester City future has attracted increased attention following developments in the Premier League’s financial case against the club.
The Norwegian remains under a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium, but speculation has connected several European clubs with a future move.
Arsenal have featured prominently among those links as Mikel Arteta’s side continue considering their attacking options ahead of 2027.
The Gunners failed to land leading attacking targets Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez during the summer transfer window.
However, their position regarding a potential move for Haaland is considerably clearer than some recent speculation has suggested.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have held no talks over signing Haaland, while his representatives insist there has been no contact with the Gunners.
The Manchester City striker is also not currently part of Arsenal’s transfer plans despite the club assessing potential attacking additions for 2027.
Also, the report states that Arsenal indicate they would naturally assess the situation if a player of Haaland’s calibre became available.
However, that position has not resulted in an approach or discussions with the Norway international’s representatives.
Haaland’s camp also remains focused on Manchester City, with his representatives currently considering City their only option.
Real Madrid and Barcelona continue to monitor his longer-term situation and believe an opportunity could potentially emerge in 2027. TEAMtalk has previously reported that both Spanish clubs are considering the possibility of a future move.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring developments surrounding the striker. Furthermore, Haaland would be highly likely to favour Spain if he eventually decides to leave Manchester City.
For Arsenal, the immediate position therefore remains unchanged despite the growing transfer speculation.
The Gunners intend to assess attacking options for 2027. But they are not currently working on a deal to bring Haaland to the Emirates Stadium.
