Tottenham Hotspur started this transfer window wonderfully. However, things are now looking a bit bleak for Thomas Frank and his side because of their North London rivals.
In the Premier League, both North London clubs started with wins in both of their games. But in the transfer market, Arsenal seem to beat the Spurs in every step.
Just a week earlier, they hijacked a deal for one of the primary targets of Thomas Frank. The Spurs have also agreed a fee to sign Eberechi Eze.
However, as soon as Kai Havertz got injured, the Gunners swooped in and signed Eze within a few hours. And this was one of the heists of this summer transfer window.
As clubs approach the final few days of the transfer window, there will be lots of movements because clubs will scramble to get deals over the line in the last minutes.
Within such a limited time, Arsenal could hijack another Tottenham Hotspur target. And this will surely make Thomas Frank livid.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Piero Hincapie. The Bayer Leverkusen centre-back is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Hincapie has agreed personal terms with the Gunners, and Mikel Arteta’s team is ready to place the first bid to Leverkusen.
The bid will be for a loan deal with an obligation to buy. But the Gunners will only bid one the situation with Jakub Kiwior and FC Porto is resolved.
Until then, Tottenham Hotspur will have time to place a bid and convince Hincapie to join them. Otherwise, it looks like another Spurs target will be hijacked by the Gunners.
