After winning the North London derby, Arsenal now have a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. They had a fantastic summer transfer window.
But the Gunners are still looking to improve their squad. Andrea Berta is looking to add more depth to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Now, they are looking at a player who once played for Manchester United. However, since leaving the club, he has thrived in his career.
That is why he is now drawing eyeballs of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. And Arsenal are one of those clubs.
Also, his former club, Manchester United, are also looking to bring him back at Old Trafford. However, it will not be easy for the Red Devils.
According to CaughtOffside, Scott McTominay keeps growing under Antonio Conte at Napoli, and several Premier League clubs have taken notice.
The Scottish midfielder left Manchester United in 2024 and has turned into one of Serie A’s most dominant midfielders.
McTominay has scored four goals and made two assists in 15 matches this season. And fans in Italy rate him as one of the best performers this year.
Arsenal are monitoring him closely. Mikel Arteta believes McTominay can add energy next to Declan Rice and improve the physical side of the team.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis set a £60 million price for the midfielder. He wants a serious offer before he even starts a conversation.
McTominay feels happy in Naples and likes Conte’s project, so he does not push for a move. However, he is having a hard time adjusting to the popularity he is getting in Italy.
It is something he never experienced at Manchester United. Several clubs still plan to follow him, but a transfer looks more realistic in the summer of 2026.
🚨 Arsenal could emerge as a surprising destination for Scott McTominay if the midfielder makes a return to the Premier League.
