Liverpool football club are in a crisis over Mohamed Salah’s comments. After the Leeds United game, which ended in a draw, Salah spoke his heart out about his current situation.
He even went on to say that the club has thrown him under the bus. One Liverpool legend didn’t take his comments lightly.
While speaking on Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher said:
“I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game. Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst, I do not think it was.
“I think whenever Salah stops in the mix zone, which he’s done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it’s choreographed between him and his agent to cause maximum damage and to strengthen his own position.”
Also, Carragher also took a dig on Salah while saying:
“You weren’t a big star before you came to Liverpool, you haven’t really won much for Egypt, no matter how big you are, you need help from your teammates, your manager and fans, it’s important that he remembers that. When he talks after Leeds, it’s all about me, me, me.”
Now, another Liverpool legend has spoken on the issue. Steven Gerrard was on TNT Sports when he spoke his mind about the entire Mohamed Salah saga. He said:
“A couple of lines about throwing people under the bus, wrong. Need to reverse a little bit away from that, to deal with that with the manager.”
Gerrard was very respectful about his opinion. He said that he understands Salah’s situation. The former Liverpool midfielder said:
“He’s obviously really upset he’s not playing, which I respect. He obviously wants to help the team, which I respect.”
The former Liverpool captain also urged the current captain, Virgil van Dij,k to step in and control the situation. He said:
“This needs Virgil van Dijk to go, ‘How are we sorting this out?’ Not even for so much for the benefit of the club, or the team, it’s the fans.”
Salah was excluded from the Liverpool squad that beat Inter Milan by a solitary goal at San Siro.
“At the end of the day, Liverpool football club need Mo Salah back playing well”
