The time has come for Manchester United to make the decision that could shape their future in the coming years. They will now have to make a decision on appointing the new permanent manager.
After sacking Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils decided to appoint an interim boss. They intended to appoint the new permanent manager in the summer.
So, they brought in Michael Carrick. And after a few months in charge, the former Manchester United midfielder has turned the club’s fortunes around.
From a club that was struggling to finish in the top half of the table, Manchester United became the third Premier League team this season to qualify for the Champions League.
Also, they are well on their way towards cementing the third spot in the table. As a result, Carrick has reduced the board’s work.
Manchester United have already made up their minds to give Michael Carrick the role of permanent manager at the club.
Now, according to Sully on X, the Red Devils are preparing a two-year deal for Carrick with an option to extend his stay for a further year.
Also, as per the report, Manchester United are involving Carrick heavily in their recruitment meetings. The Red Devils will be having a busy summer window.
They will have multiple positions to fill, including finding a replacement for Casemiro, a left-back, an attacker to replace Marcus Rashford, and a centre-back.
There are many reports suggesting United will make at least five signings next summer.
So, with Carrick’s job all but certain to become permanent, United can now focus on strengthening their squad for the next season.
