Manchester United are having a forgettable transfer window. Many believed that this transfer window would be one of the most important in the club’s recent history.
Ruben Amorim wanted to rebuild the team from scratch. That is why he has already discarded Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Jadon Sancho.
All these players will leave the club once United find suitable buyers who are ready to meet their demands for the players.
However, Manchester United should not be focusing on outgoings only. They need to find suitable players who will suit the vision of their current manager.
However, they are getting setback after setback whenever they are pursuing players. They started off brilliantly by signing Matheus Cunha early in the summer.
After that, they are pursuing Bryan Mbeumo, and the deal is not yet over the line. Apart from that, they want to sign a midfielder and a defender.
But Manchester United have set their sights on a defender who has troubled them in recent years. Yet, they are not the only club that is pursuing the Premier League defender.
AC Milan are also going through the same transition after a forgettable season. They are also looking to strengthen their defence.
That is why they have set their sight on the same defender that Manchester United want to sign.
Now, according to Ben Jacobs, Manchester United and AC Milan are both targeting Pervis Estupinan from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Both clubs are yet to make a formal offer. However, Manchester United have already opened talks with the player.
And, the Ecuadorian is ready to join the Red Devils. But, United have to convince Brighton, which will be a tough task. So, it will be interesting to see what will happen in this transfer saga.
But if Manchester United want to be competitive next season, they need to close deals early so that Amorim gets enough time to integrate those new signings with the squad.
