Manchester United plan move for Lewis Hall alternative

The Red Devils are considering alternatives before the transfer window reaches its conclusion.

Manchester United have made strengthening at left-back one of their priorities during the closing stages of the summer window.

Michael Carrick has already received significant backing after transforming United’s fortunes during the second half of last season.

The Red Devils climbed from the bottom half of the table to finish third. That turnaround also secured their return to the Champions League.

United have since strengthened Carrick’s midfield with the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer.

However, the club still want a long-term option at left-back, with Luke Shaw now 31 years old.

Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall has emerged as their primary target for the position during the summer window.

The 21-year-old wants to move to Old Trafford, while United are reportedly prepared to offer around £60 million.

However, Newcastle have resisted United’s approaches as they look to prevent another important player from leaving.

That stance has forced the Red Devils to consider alternatives before the transfer window reaches its conclusion.

According to Sport Witness, Manchester United have concrete interest in Club Brugge defender Joaquin Seys.

The 21-year-old has established himself with the Belgian club after progressing through their academy system.

Seys primarily plays at left-back but can also operate on the opposite side when required.

However, Club Brugge have little desire to lose the Belgium international during the current transfer window.

Seys recently signed a new contract that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2029.

Reports suggest United may need to offer more than €40 million to secure his signature.

Seys has also expressed his happiness at Club Brugge but has not completely ruled out a summer departure.

United must now decide whether to pursue the Belgian as Newcastle continue resisting their attempts to sign Hall.
