Arsenal set to bid for Morgan Rogers

Arsenal now appear ready to make their move as they look to secure Morgan Rogers.

Arsenal head into the summer after ending their long wait for Premier League glory. Mikel Arteta guided the Gunners to their first league title in 22 years.

The North London club also reached the Champions League final before losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in Budapest.

Now Arsenal want to build a squad capable of defending their crown. The club have already started work on several transfer targets.

Arsenal are also looking to strengthen their attacking options before the start of the new season. One name has now moved to the top of their shortlist.

According to Chris Wheatley, Arsenal are preparing to test Aston Villa’s resolve with a bid for Morgan Rogers.

The England international has emerged as the club’s main attacking target this summer. Arteta reportedly views the versatile forward as the ideal addition to his squad.

Rogers enjoyed an impressive spell under Unai Emery and has enhanced his reputation significantly over the last 18 months. Aston Villa, however, have no intention of making negotiations easy.

The Midlands club value the 23-year-old at no less than £80 million. Reports suggest any deal could move closer to the £100 million mark if competition increases.

Villa remain in a strong position. The attacker signed a long-term contract until 2031, leaving the club under no immediate pressure to sell.

Since arriving from Middlesbrough in early 2024, Rogers has produced 31 goals and 29 assists in 125 appearances.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to work on other deals. The Gunners are close to completing a move for Leicester City youngster Jeremy Monga.

The 16-year-old ranks among the most highly-rated young players in English football. Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis also remains on Arsenal’s radar.

Julian Alvarez is another player Arteta admires but the Argentine wants to join Barcelona. Arsenal are also monitoring Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi after his impressive World Cup displays.

In addition, the club are closing in on a deal for Georgia Under-21 international Andria Bartishvili. However, Rogers remains the standout target.

Arsenal now appear ready to make their move as they look to secure one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents before the new season begins.
