Newcastle United have now added a Manchester United midfielder to their list of targets for next summer. The Red Devils are planning for a major midfield overhaul next summer.
Casemiro is already leaving, and so, the Red Devils are trying to find the ideal replacement. Now, replacing the Brazilian will be a tough task.
Now, United are looking at Sandro Tonali as a possible replacement. However, there were reports that Manchester United might leave this deal because of the overall cost.
Newcastle are not ready to sell Tonali for cheap. Also, they have Bruno Guimaraes on their radar as well. Now, many Newcastle players could leave next summer.
The CEO of Newcastle has already hinted at that recently. Also, the future of their manager, Eddie Howe, is up in the air. They will only decide his future at the end of the season.
That is why the Magpies are also tracking players who could be the replacements for some of the stars who could leave next summer. And Sandro Tonali is surely one of them who could leave.
Now, Manchester United are the frontrunners, as many outlets reported. Eve Fabrizio Romano revealed that United have contacted Tonali’s representatives.
So, there is a strong interest in Tonali from United. However, they are concerned about the price of that deal. However, there is a chance for Manchester United to lower that price now.
According to Uruguayan outlet El Pais, Newcastle United are keeping an eye on Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan could leave the club next summer.
So, if United are looking to sign Tonali from Newcastle, the Magpies would also ask for Urgarte, and in this way, Manchester United could lower the overall cost of the deal.
Now, it is unclear whether Newcastle would tread that path. However, this update will surely give Manchester United the confidence to pursue Sandro Tonali next summer.
