Next summer, Manchester United’s focus will not only be on player recruitment but also on player sales. They know that they must make a significant investment in their squad.
However, qualifying for the Champions League will give a major boost to their transfer budget. They did suffer a setback against Leeds United, but still, United are the favourites to secure a top 4 finish.
Also, this season, the top 5 teams will qualify for the Champions League, which will give United an extra leverage. So, they are already starting to make plans for the summer.
As mentioned earlier, player sales will play a key role in their summer transfer activity, as Michael Carrick mentioned recently. Also, United are yet to make up their mind about their next boss.
Players have already shown their backing for Carrick. However, until the United bosses make the decision, it will be unclear who will be at the helm at Old Trafford next season.
Now, Marcus Rashford will be leaving Manchester United next season. The United academy graduate is playing for Barcelona on loan this season.
The Catalan club are very happy with the England international and are desperate to keep him on a permanent move.
However, they are in negotiations with Manchester United for the terms of Marcus Rashford’s permanent deal.
So, if Rashford leaves on a permanent basis, United will be looking for a replacement, and they have found one from LaLiga itself.
According to El Nacional, Manchester United are eyeing a move for Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao as the replacement for Marcus Rashford.
Last season, Barcelona came very close to signing Williams, and they even agreed terms with the player.
But they failed to give me a guarantee that he will be registered before the start of the season. So, the Spaniard extended his contract with Athletic Club.
However, this summer, Nico Williams has reportedly told his club that he would be open to a move, which will give Manchester United a big boost in their pursuit.
Arsenal are also one of the clubs monitoring his situation, as they try to find a replacement for Gabriel Martinelli.
